1. The Taskara App Is Local-First

Taskara is a local-first desktop application. Your data (tasks, projects, goals, journal entries, health measurements, finances, and all other widget data) is stored entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data, and the app does not require an account to use.

The app includes a remote update feature that periodically checks for new versions. This process transmits only the app version number and your operating system. No personal data, usage data, or widget content is transmitted during this check.

The Taskara app does not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage data of any kind. There is no tracking, no crash reporting, and no data collection. Your usage of the app is completely private.

2. Information We Collect via the Website

Information You Provide

• Email address (when you sign up for downloads, the email course, or contact us)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe, Apple, or other payment processors. We do not store card details.)

Information Collected Automatically on the Website

• Usage data (pages visited, buttons clicked, time on page)
• Device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution, anonymised IP address)
• Referral source (how you arrived at the website)

Note: Precise GPS location data is not collected.

App data: Stored entirely on your device. We have no access to it and do not retain it.

Website data: Email addresses and purchase records are retained as long as necessary to provide the service. If you request deletion, most data is removed within 30 days, with backups purged within 90 days. Analytics data is kept only as long as necessary for website improvement purposes.

6. Cookies

The Taskara app does not use cookies or any tracking technology.

UK/EU users have rights under GDPR, including data access requests, processing objections, and the right to lodge complaints with the ICO (ico.org.uk).

California users have rights under CCPA regarding data collection disclosure and deletion requests.

Your data is not sold.

8. Children's Privacy

Taskara is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Users aged 13 to 18 should have parental consent. Any data collected from users under 13 is deleted immediately upon discovery.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or on the website at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of Taskara or the website indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

10. International Transfers

Some of our website service providers may process data outside the UK/EU. We use reputable providers with appropriate data protection measures in place.
