1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Taskara, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Taskara. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Service Description

Taskara is a local-first desktop application that provides a personal life dashboard with widgets for productivity, wellness, finance, and tracking. Key features include:

• Task management, projects, goals, and Kanban boards
• Mood tracking, journaling, health metrics, and fitness logging
• Net worth tracking, budgeting, savings, and debt management
• Progress charts, streaks, and calendar views
• Password-protected AES-256-GCM encryption
• Customisable dashboard layouts with drag-and-drop widgets

All data is stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account or internet connection to function. An optional remote update feature checks for new app versions.

4. Licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Taskara for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on Taskara
• Redistribute, sublicence, lease, or sell the application
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the application for any unlawful purpose

5. Free and Premium Tiers

Taskara offers a free tier and a premium tier:

• Free: Includes 12 widgets, 1 dashboard (up to 12 widgets), encryption, dark mode, and all keyboard shortcuts. Free forever with no time limits, ads, or account required.
• Premium: A one-time purchase that unlocks all 26 widgets, unlimited dashboards, XLSX and PDF exports, auto-save, preset layouts, custom accent colours, and all bonus materials.

6. Payment and Refunds

Premium purchases are processed by Stripe, Apple, or other designated payment processors. We do not store your card details.

Taskara Premium is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring fees or subscriptions.

Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. To request a refund, contact us at hello@taskara.co with your order details.

7. Fair Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Create multiple accounts or licences to circumvent tier restrictions
• Share your licence key with others
• Attempt to bypass or circumvent premium tier restrictions
• Use the Service in a way that degrades performance for others (e.g., excessive automated requests to update servers)

8. Your Data and Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create within Taskara. Since the app stores data locally on your device, we have no access to your content.

You are solely responsible for backing up your data. If you choose to sync via a cloud folder (Dropbox, iCloud, etc.), that sync is governed by the respective cloud provider's terms.

Encryption disclaimer: If you set an encryption password and forget it, your data becomes permanently inaccessible. There is no password recovery, no master key, and no backdoor. We cannot retrieve your data under any circumstances.

9. Updates

Taskara includes a remote update feature that checks for new versions of the application. This feature transmits only the current app version and your operating system to our update server. No personal data or content is transmitted.

Updates may include bug fixes, performance improvements, new features, or security patches. We recommend keeping the app up to date for the best experience.

10. Intellectual Property

Taskara, including its design, code, graphics, icons, and branding, is the intellectual property of AzA Creations LTD. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

The Taskara name, logo, and associated marks are trademarks of AzA Creations LTD. You may not use them without prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AzA Creations LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for Taskara Premium in the preceding 12 months, or $97, whichever is less.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in England, unless you are entitled to bring claims in your local courts under applicable consumer protection laws.

14. Termination

You may stop using Taskara at any time by uninstalling the application. We may terminate or suspend your access to premium features if you breach these Terms.

Since your data is stored locally, uninstalling the app does not delete your data file. You may delete it manually at any time.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
